Ivanovic -180
Venus +250

Kiefer down a set but playing tough. Hopefully he will pull the upset.

Anyone notice today that NBC and ESPN had the Serena match on at the same time except that ESPN was live at the moment of injury, and NBC had just barely started the match. The TV coverage has been weak. Enough , enough how many times does one care to see Serena play the same match. Give me some real mens tennis. Women fortunate to be getting the same $$ as the men for putting out an inferior show with a much easier road. Not sure what to think of Dick Enberg covering tennis anymore.

NBC has been always terrible. When ESPN switches live tennis over to the local station, NBC starts showing a taped match. The only way they catchup is if there is a rain delay that brings them to the present. What a joke.

Ivanovic wins to setup a "Lechers delight" with Vaidisova in the Qts.
Venus with the early lead 30-15 over Maria.
Kiefer evens match 1-1, each player winning a set in a tiebreaker.

Serena match with Hantuchova being televised for what must be like the 99th time. Help me!
Henin to beat Serena, but won't play unless the odds come down to a reasonable play.

Williams sisters do as predicted, Venus moves on and Serena will have to chill and suck her thumb. Can Serena ever give credit to her opponent when she gets beat?

Womens Qts:
Venus-250
Can't go either way on the "Lechers delight" Ivanovic-Vaidisova

Pending: Venus to win title at close to +1300

Mens:
I know its fashionable to go with the nicer dog odds, but I just don't see many making it happen. I do think that Bjorkman with his excellent grass game and experience warrants a play at +270.
Roddick -250
Baghdatis -200
Nadal -210
Can't go either way on Hewitt-Djokovic
Federer, yes

What I am thinking of playing so far:
Venus-250
Roddick-250
Bjorkman+270

And the last of the Russians goes down, Youhzny. All three say bye, bye, today.
Great tennis in that Hewitt-Djokovic match. Some unbelievebly long rallies.
Venus advances.

Looking forward to Fridays matches.
I really admire Ivanovics Qts victory. To be 19, 1st time ever on center court Wimbledon, down a break both 2nd and 3rd sets, and 3 match points. She dug in, hit for winners and pulled victory out. I think she has the nerve now to go with the talent to give Venus a battle. Venus will need to continue her high level play of the past two days, otherwise Ivanovic capable of pulling an upset. The odds are too high on Venus in my opinion. The winner will play Henin in the Final.

Depending on what I see in the Federer and Roddick Qts matches, Roddick may shape up with sweet odds in the semis. The other two Qts are very evenly matched. All 4 capable and fighters, and I believe willing to stay out on the court, even when play not going in their favor.
At this point my only play is Roddick which is pending due to Thursdays rainout.

Roddick folds after being up 2 sets to none. Andy, damn you, you cost me! Jimmy Conners so frustrated that he has pledged to refund all punters who had his man in the match. Instead of at least making the semis like Roddick has 3 of the past 4 times, he goes home early.
I have seen many Rafa doubters in the forum threads over the past two rounds. I shrugged most of that off, as for me Nadal is the most mentally strong player and combined with that physical talent, he is always capable of doing whatever it takes, time wise to beat down his opponent. I give the edge to Nadal over Djokovic. Will likely play Nadal to win either 3-1 or 3-2 or both.
The French have moved there national holiday to July 6 after the stunning play of Gasquet and Bartoli. Who is this Bartoli? I have never seen her play live. She must have played out of her panties to pull this one out over Henin. I will go with the proven product, Venus and let my pending future ride with Venus. Don't have that much invested to hedge with Bartoli.
In their two previous grass court matches in 2006, Federer has won 5 of the 6 sets over Gasquet. Does Gasquet have any chance? If so, I would like some feedback. I just haven't seen the kid enough to know if he can bring it against Roger. Odds are tempting.

Which Borg record will be duplicated?

Will it be Federer winning 5 Wimbledons in a row to tie Borg or will it be Nadal winning the French and Wimbledon back to back, to become the 1st man to do that since Borg as well? Both players had relatively short outings in the semis so their batteries should be charged. Last year other than the 1st set, the match was highly contested over the next 3 sets. Nadals game continues to improve on all surfaces. The value lies with Nadal. If he forces Roger to earn his keep with longer rallies, deep baseline shots and hitting the angles, then he will make it difficult. The pressure is on Roger. Nadal mentally stronger should this match be extended to 4 or 5 long sets. Currently the best available where I play is Nadal +480.
